Oculus Quest: VR goggle price and performance

Oculus Rift is still considered the drawing card of the still young VR industry. And the portfolio continues to expand: With Oculus Quest, the next device after the Oculus Go is coming onto the market that works independently. There are already several models of this, which differ in price and features.

In many ways, Oculus Quest is a more expensive and better variant of the Oculus Go.

Oculus Quest primarily appeals to the gaming scene and is therefore marketed as an all-in-one gaming solution. Meanwhile, neither the Oculus Go nor the Oculus Quest are available for purchase. Instead, you can now purchase the Oculus Quest 2 if you don't want to buy the other devices used.

1. With the new Oculus VR goggles, a new controller with a new design also comes out.
2. The goggles are also compatible with PC VR. For this, you only need an Oculus LINK cable to connect the devices. However, you have to buy this separately. It will cost you 99 euros in the official store.
3. For setup, you need a mobile device and the Oculus app. The latter you get for free in any app store.
4. You have the option to buy an Elite strap with or without battery pack and a carrying case for this pack to go with the glasses. A headset insert set and a carrying case for the VR goggles themselves are also available for order.
5. Till now, no retail partners in Germany are available for the Oculus Quest 2. Also via the official website you can not yet purchase the new glasses in Germany.
6. At the moment, there is therefore a sales stop in Germany. How long this will last, however, is unknown. Probably, however, the price will be like in France around the 450 euros.
