How to add a blur effect in iMovie?

With a blur effect you can blur certain parts of a movie. This is useful, for example, when you want to mislead the viewer with inaccurate images. In iMovie, you can create the blur effect with a few simple steps.

1. Use drag & drop to insert a video into the iMovie timeline. To do this, click on the file with the video and hold down the mouse button. Now drag the file over the center of the iMovie window and release the mouse button again.
2. Then press "Customize" at the bottom of the window. If "Customize" is not displayed, first go via the menu bar in "iMovie" > "Preferences" and check "Advanced Settings".
3. Continue clicking on "Video Effects".
4. Now you will see a list of effects. In it, select the "Gaussian Blur" by clicking on the name. Das gesamt Bild wird nun verwischt.
