Windows 10: Display windows side by side - this is how it works

To display windows side by side in Windows 10, you only need a few clicks:
  1. Open the desired folders or applications.
  2. Right-click at the bottom of the taskbar.
  3. Click "Show windows side by side" in about the middle of the selection.
  4. All open windows are then adjusted so that they are neatly displayed side by side with fixed spacing. With the mouse, of course, you can make your own adjustments.
  5. Other options are "Overlap windows" and "Show windows stacked". If you do not like the selected arrangement, you can undo it with one click.
  6. Alternatively, click the left mouse button at the very top of the bar of the application. Hold down the mouse button and slide the window all the way to the left or right edge of your screen.
  7. As soon as an animation appears let go of the mouse button. The application then takes up half of the screen.
  8. On the other side, the remaining open applications are displayed small. Click on the application that should fill the other side of the screen.
In addition, the general rule is: the arrangement of the windows affects not only folders, but all open applications on the desktop, so for example, also browsers or Office documents.
