Rust: This is the new softcore mode - all info

Rust can be a tough place - especially for newcomers, but also for players who prefer to take it easy. With the new softcore mode, these wishes are now taken into account.

The softcore mode was installed via patch on February 4, 2021. Casual players should thus get their money's worth.

Rust: Softcore mode with gentler conditions

When it was introduced, Softcore stood out with the following features:

• You no longer lose your entire inventory when you die, as you can get half of it back either at the scene or in special Reclaim terminals in the bandit camp or outpost. There is a time limit of two hours for this.
• You can also set the two locations mentioned as spawn locations. Thus, you always start in a secured environment.
• The maximum team size is four.

As Facepunch communicated, further changes and innovations are possible in the future.The softcore mode can be found on ten new servers - overall, the mode thus still takes a minority. However, this is not to be underestimated, as Rust attracts more and more players and not everyone takes a liking to the hardcore PVP of the vanilla servers.
