How to install IrfanView on your computer

If you want to use IrfanView on your system, you need to install the image viewing tool first. To date, however, the software is only available for Windows systems. Apple users will have to switch to other programs. Follow these steps to install IrfanView on your system:

1. Download the IrfanView installer from the net.
2. Start the application once it has finished downloading.
3. Determine the installation directory and which shortcuts IrfanView should create.
4. Follow the instructions of the installation wizard. In the further course of the installation, specify which file formats should be opened automatically by IrfanView in the future.
5. Once the installation is complete, the tool is ready for use and can be used.

Files in the formats you selected will now always be opened automatically with IrfanView. About the settings of IrfanView, you can also subsequently adjust your selection. Alternatively, you can also specify in the Windows settings which program should be used by default for certain file formats.

Edit images with IrfanView

In addition to the display function, IrfanView is also equipped with some editing functions. For example, the tool allows you to adjust the image size, insert text, use filters and effects, or even convert image files to another format. All editing options can be conveniently accessed via the navigation and the status bar.
