Vive Cosmos: Price and more info at a glance

With Vive Cosmos, HTC wants to attack in the top class of VR sets. The device will still be released in 2019 and in the meantime there is first information about the price. We show how much the purchase will probably cost.

Top VR with ease of use: Vive Cosmos is supposed to herald the next level.

HTC is one of the big players in the VR market. The current top model Vive Pro is considered very mature, but Cosmos is now to increase this even more.

Vive Cosmos: Price as expected in the premium segment

HTC has not yet named a price, but Vive Cosmos is now already listed at some retailers:

• An English store gives 700 pounds as the purchase price. That corresponds to about 760 euros.
• In Spain, different prices can be found: While one dealer calls up about 810 euros, it is almost 900 euros plus taxes at another.
• The price in Germany can therefore only be roughly estimated, around 800 euros seem realistic.

The special feature of Vive Cosmos is that the tracking elements are already integrated. The goggles and two controllers thus represent the whole set: This is uncluttered and takes away VR technology's reputation for being too technically complicated.
