GMX: View disk space - check capacity

If you regularly receive documents via email, you should make sure that you have enough disk space. Otherwise, the email may be sent back to the sender. This puts you at risk of not receiving important documents or upsetting people.

This is how you check your storage

If you have an overview of your storage capacity, you can avoid the risks of a full mailbox.

• Log in to your GMX account normally and click on the "Start" button in the top menu band.
• You can now view your new emails. Below is a small lettering that says storage space.
• Click on the circle icon you see next to it. This works according to the traffic light system. Already at yellow you should make deletions.
• Click on the entry "Storage space" to see more about the distribution of capacity within each folder. Only then can you decide how to increase the storage space again.

Clean up your storage space

Emails that end up in the trash also consume valuable storage space. Due to this, you should empty the recycle bin regularly. Also, if you receive emails that have larger attachments, you should choose a different storage space for them. The cloud or another external storage location are very suitable to keep these files safe and relieve your GMX inbox.
