How to unlock your Unitymedia SmartCard

In order to use the Unitymedia TV offer, you need a SmartCard that allows you to receive the encrypted channels on your TV set. You can get the card either as part of the TV package you booked or separately in the Unitymedia Store. Unlocking the SmartCard works via the Unitymedia website. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Insert the SmartCard into the appropriate slot in your TV receiver or TV.
2. Call up the Unitymedia website in your browser.
3. Log in with your user data and call up the account settings.
4. Switch to "My products" and select the category "TV".
5. Click on "Activate SmartCard". Finally, you will receive a confirmation email and can now start a channel scan.

Unitymedia SIM card unlock

As with the SmartCard, you must also unlock a SIM card from Unitymedia first to use the phone offer. The card will be sent to you by mail with the contract documents after purchase. Once you have received the card, you can request activation via the website. Unitymedia provides a special online form for this purpose. All you have to do is enter the SIM card number and the six-digit activation code. You will find the activation code in the order confirmation.
