Old Reddit: How to switch to the old design - all info

Already in 2018, Reddit's entire user interface underwent a renovation. Most users got used to the new design, but not all. Read how you can activate the old design.

The redesign was intended to make Reddit look more modern and make the features more accessible. This has succeeded well, but the force of habit is simply stronger with some users.

Old Reddit: Old design is still accessible

You can activate the old design in your account settings:

1. Open the "User settings" by clicking on your profile in the top right corner. Alternatively, go to the URL reddit.com/settings.
2. There you will see the option "Opt out of the redesign" at the bottom. Activate the slider to the right of it.

Interesting here is the note "for the time being", which indicates that the return to the old Reddit will probably not be possible forever. Presumably, Reddit will continue to leave the option open for a while, since especially many veterans of the platform like to work with the old design.By the way: If you use Reddit in the browser, you can also call the old design by the prefix "old".
