Use AirPods as a hearing aid? That's possible!
For a short time, you can also use the AirPods from Apple as a hearing aid. Here, a special technology takes hold that uses the headphones to make surrounding sounds louder and thus reproduce them more clearly for the user. Previously, the feature was only available with verified hearing aids.
AirPods: How to use the headphones as a hearing aid
With the release of iOS 12, the "Live Listen" feature was introduced for the first time. With the help of this feature, AirPods can be used as a hearing aid.- The technology is quite simple and effective in theory.
- The noise-canceling microphones built into the AirPods are used by the "Live Listen" feature to record surrounding sounds and then pass them on to the user louder through the headphones.
- The function is so far still reserved for a few beta testers and despite positive criticism, of course, still in need of improvement.
