2. Many manufacturers and dealers are oriented in the guarantees to the statutory warranty and grant 24 months warranty.
3. For some suppliers of electrical appliances or for certain devices, however, a longer warranty of 5 or even 10 years may apply.

This is the difference between warranty and guarantee

Often the term warranty is used as a synonym for the statutory warranty or confused with it. However, contrary to what is assumed, these are two different things, because the warranty is not determined by the dealer, but is regulated by law. In Germany, the warranty is valid for 24 months, but can be shortened to 12 months if you buy used goods. If you are still in the period of the statutory warranty, you have a right to exchange or repair the purchased electrical appliance in the event of damage.
