F1 2020: This is the Podium Pass - we explain the variants

With the Podium Pass, players have the opportunity to unlock additional in-game items in F1 2020. We explain how the system works, what variants are available, and what the costs are.

Normal or VIP? With the Podium Pass you have two options.

The Podium Pass is a Season Pass, as it is common in quite a few games nowadays.

F1 2020: Podium Pass explained

For the functionality in F1 2020 this means:
  • Podium Pass allows you to unlock additional content such as new car liveries, racing suits and cheering poses. This is done in stages, for which you need experience points.
  • These are available in all game modes, solo just like online.
  • A new Podium Pass appears at regular intervals, with which new rewards can be earned. These are divided into daily and weekly challenges. In mid-September, so about two months after the release of F1 2020, the second Podium Pass was released.
  • It is important to distinguish between the free Podium Pass, which is available to all players, and the VIP Podium Pass, which you have to buy. The VIP Podium Pass logically unlocks better rewards.
The VIP Podium Pass costs 9,000 Pitcoins. The in-game currency, in turn, you can either buy with real money or unlock via Podium Pass. Thus, it is theoretically possible to get all the additional content without spending any money. Of course, it's also logical that it's much faster via real money - after all, there has to be an incentive for this expenditure.
