Xbox Series X: Which games are planned for release?

The Xbox Series X will launch with strong technology, but the hoped-for success depends primarily on the games. Our guide shows which titles should be available at release.

Around two months before the launch of the new console, there are still not too many confirmed games that should be ready for release. However, this number is likely to grow.

Xbox Series X: New and old games combined

All the more important is Smart Delivery, which we have already explained here using Cyberpunk 2077 as an example.

• Per Smart Delivery, you can namely buy games for the Xbox One and later get a free upgrade as soon as the version for the new Series X is available.
• Since there will not be too many brand-new top titles at the release of the console, Microsoft is initially relying all the more on Smart Delivery.
• Because the new spin-offs of important franchises appear partly months later, for example Halo Infinite, which is scheduled for 2021.
• Nevertheless, there are of course games that will be released in time for the Xbox Series X. The most well-known names are FIFA 21, Watch Dogs Legion, Dirt 5, Gears Tactics and Planet Coaster.

The smooth transition of games between console generations means gamers will have to do a bit of rethinking; however, the advantages are obvious, as they mean more flexibility and lower costs. The fact that the Xbox One Series X will be backwards compatible only makes things better.
