If you want to read out your WLAN password, the password display is not possible directly on the device for Windows Phone users. Instead, you need a Windows computer and connect both devices together. How to find your WLAN password on the computer afterwards, you can find out here.

Windows Phone: How to read your WLAN password

If you don't remember your WLAN password, you can't display it directly on a Windows Phone for security reasons. Instead, you must connect your Windows Phone to a Windows PC and log in there with the same user account that you use on your phone.

1. To read out your WLAN password afterwards, please click on "Start" on your Windows PC and open the "Control Panel".
2. In the Control Panel, then navigate to "Network and Internet" > "Network and Sharing Center" and click there on the left in the menu bar on "Change adapter settings".
3. Now double-click on your WLAN network and select the option "Wireless Properties" in the window that opens.
4. Then please go to the tab "Security" and check "Show characters" so that your WLAN password is displayed in plain text.

How to use the WLAN optimization on Windows Phone

To connect to your WLAN network without entering a password, you can use the "WLAN Optimization" function on Windows Phone. If you have activated this on your device under "WLAN" > "WLAN Optimization"> "Share selected WLAN networks", you can share your WLAN with your Skype, Outlook or Facebook contacts without them needing a password to use it.
