Copying DVDs to iPad - these are your options
To watch DVDs on your iPad, you need to transfer the movies to the tablet. For this to work and for the iPad to be able to play the movies, the video files should be prepared accordingly beforehand.
How to copy DVDs to your iPad
Before you can copy a DVD to your iPad, you must first convert the video file to the correct format. Otherwise, you may not be able to play the movie on your tablet. Conversion software such as Freemake Video Converter, Free Studio or Handbrake can be used to convert the DVD to MP4 format and save it to your hard drive. Then you can transfer the video file to your iPad using iTunes. To do this, follow these steps:- Start iTunes and connect the iPad to the computer via USB cable.
- Now add the video file to the media library. To do this, press the key combination [Ctrl] and [O]. Now navigate to the location of the file, select it and click "Open".
- Call the settings of the iPad by clicking on the iPad icon in iTunes.
- Open the "Movies" section in the device settings and check the option "Sync movies".
- Now select the newly added movie and click "Apply".
