Windows 10: Turn off Viewpoint - how it works

The Viewpoint feature is supposed to enrich the lock screen with changing images. However, using the feature is not mandatory. Our guide shows you how to turn off Blickpunkt.

Blickpunkt is enabled by default, but can be easily turned off.

Blickpunkt is one of the many features that sets Windows 10 apart from its predecessors.

Windows 10: How to turn off Blickpunkt

To disable Blickpunkt, follow these steps:

1. Open the "Windows Settings" with "Win" + "I".
2. Select "Personalization".
3. Click "Lock Screen" in the bar on the left.
4. There you already have the option under "Background" to activate one of the two options "Picture" or "Slideshow" instead of "Windows Viewpoint", so that your own content appears on the lock screen.

Furthermore, you can set the slider at "Show lock screen background on login screen" to "Off" further down. This way you can continue to use Blickpunkt, but without the preset images.
