The technology behind Aquastop differs depending on the manufacturer. Basically, the hoses that feed water into the appliance are double-walled, so that in the event of a crack, your kitchen is not immediately under water. There is also a solenoid valve inside the hose that immediately stops the water supply if the hose is damaged. You can recognize your dishwasher's aquastop by the fact that the inlet hose has a ribbed surface. You also can't miss the stop valve: A distinctive plastic box attached to the end of the hose on the wall side contains the regulating valve that reliably controls the water stop in the dishwasher.Mechanical or electronic aquastop systems can be installed in modern dishwashers.

1. In the case of mechanical aquastop, the hose position protection consists of three channels connected with rubber washers and springs. These are in equilibrium at normal water pressure.
2. Other mechanical aquastop mechanisms are the water stop system with counter and the chemical-mechanical water stop system. In the latter, a means is inserted between the walls of the hose. This prevents further water from leaking.
