How can I transfer Kaspersky to a new computer?

If you use one of the various Kaspersky products to protect your system from malware and want to take the software with you to a new computer, it won't work without the license. Learn how to transfer your Kaspersky license to a new computer here.

Transfer Kaspersky - what you need to know before reinstalling

To transfer your Kaspersky product from an old computer to a new one, you need to delete the program on the old computer. However, before uninstalling, you need to read the license key. You will need it to reactivate the software on the new computer. Where you can find the license key depends on where you purchased your Kaspersky product.
  • If you purchased the software in the Kaspersky online store, you received the code by e-mail.
  • If you purchased the program on CD, you can find the license key in the user manual.
  • If you purchased a license activation or license renewal card, you can find the key on the back of the card.
If you have linked the program to your My Kaspersky account, you can also view the license key there.

Reinstall Kaspersky

Once you have read the license key and uninstalled the program on the old computer, you can start the installation. To do this, simply download the installation file from the Kaspersky website to the new computer and run the file. Afterwards, you can reactivate the software using the license key via the user interface and use it as usual.
