Alexa TuneIn - how to use the radio station collection

TuneIn is a collection of several thousand radio stations. In addition to well-known stations like 1Live, TuneIn also has many local radio stations available. If you want to listen to TuneIn on an Alexa device, learn how to play it here.

How TuneIn works together with Alexa

With TuneIn you have access to more than 100,000 radio stations like 1Live, WDR2 or KISS FM. If you own an Alexa device like the Amazon Echo, you can use TuneIn for free and control it by voice. To use TuneIn together with Alexa, no separate connection is necessary, since TuneIn is already included and activated in the Amazon Echo by default. It is also not necessary to create an account with TuneIn.
  1. To access a radio station from TuneIn using Alexa, simply use one of the commands: "Alexa, play (radio station)" or "Alexa, play TuneIn".
  2. Then you can control playback with commands such as "Volume up", "Volume down", "Pause" or "Stop".
  3. If you want to get more information about TuneIn or make settings, this goes in the Alexa app under "Settings" > "Music & Media" > "More about TuneIn".

How to use TuneIn via the Alexa app

As an alternative to control by voice, the selection of a TuneIn radio station is also possible via the Alexa app. To do this, first open it and navigate to "Books and Music" > "TuneIn" in the menu. Then use the search field to find a specific station you want to play, or browse categories like "Local Radio," "Sports," or "Trending" to find new, interesting radio stations. Once you've found a radio station you like, simply tap it to start playback on your Alexa device.
