The iPhone X can be easily unlocked without using Siri. Instead, you have several other methods to choose from, such as Face ID or unlocking by swiping on the lock screen. We show you how each method of unlocking works.

iPhone X: Ways to unlock without Siri

Even though Apple's voice assistant Siri is installed on the iPhone X by default, you can still unlock your smartphone without Siri. This is possible with a PIN code or with the facial recognition technology used for the first time on the iPhone X.

1. To use Face ID, please navigate to "Settings" > "Face ID & Code" on the iPhone X and tap "Unlock iPhone" to activate the function there.
2. To unlock the device, it is sufficient to lift it, look directly at the screen and wait until the lock icon opens.
3. To unlock your device using a code, activate the corresponding function under "Settings" > "Phone" > "SIM PIN".

Without Siri: How to unlock your iPhone X using gestures

Another option that Apple offers you to unlock your iPhone X is to unlock it using gestures. The use of gestures is a new feature that Apple has equipped the iPhone X with and serves as a replacement for the home button. To unlock your iPhone X using gestures, please access the device's lock screen and swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to the home screen. Please note that this way of unlocking can only be used if Face ID and PIN lock have been disabled before.
