Valheim: How to farm chains - and why they are so important

Once you enter a swamp biome in Valheim, many new items are waiting to be captured. Chains play an important role, and our guide explains how to obtain them.

Chains are relatively inconspicuous objects, but they are indispensable for some purposes.

Valheim: Chains are available in the swamp biome

You basically have two ways to get chains in the swamp biome:

• If you encounter a wrath spirit, you can slay it and get chains.
• The pickings are even better in the sunken crypts. There you can find chains in treasure chests. You can learn more about cleaning the crypts here.

After that, you can use the chains for various purposes: For example, they are necessary for the production of some strong pieces of armor, such as the chest protector of the wolf armor and the black metal shields. Also, you can use chains to build the forge bellows to upgrade your forge by one level.
