With the latest version of iOS, not all devices are supported by Apple anymore. For some users, this means that no further updates to iOS 11 will be possible without purchasing a newer model. Since Apple always synchronizes its devices with the new operating system, the updates are worthwhile.

iOS 12: These devices are still supported

The constant further development of the software also means that demands are always made on the hardware. That older models can not always meet the requirements is self-evident.

1. The version 12 of iOS continues to be supported by all models from the iPhone 5s.
2. Older models do not receive support for new updates of the operating system and are therefore compatible at most up to iOS 11.
3. The oldest model of iPads, which continues to be supported by updates is the iPad mini 2.
4. Again, older models will not receive further updates.
5. On the iPod side, all models older than the sixth-generation iPod touch are no longer in the list of supported devices.
