Netflix: Logging in doesn't work

If you can't log in to your Netflix account anymore, it can be due to several reasons. Often, it is due to faulty cookies in the browser. In addition, an outdated browser as well as server problems can also be the trigger.

Logging in doesn't work - these may be the causes

To rule out that server problems at Netflix are responsible, you can check Netflix's status page to see if there are any glitches. If so, you can unfortunately only wait until the servers are repaired or maintained. If the servers are online, check the following steps in sequence:
  1. Check your login details. If you have forgotten your password or login email, you can reset your account information so that you can access your account again.
  2. Make sure that the browser you are using is up to date. If it is not, this can lead to problems. Whether an update is available for your browser, you can usually find out on the manufacturer's site or in the browser settings.
  3. Clear the browser cache. Now and then it can happen that this is faulty and responsible for the problem. How you clear the cache depends on which browser you are using.
  4. Further, corrupted cookies can be the trigger for the problem. Netflix provides an extra web page, about you simply delete the set Netflix cookies. You must then log in again with your account information.
  5. Use the Netflix app on a mobile device or a smart TV, make sure that both the operating system and the Netflix app are up to date and connected to the Internet.
If you receive an error code or error message when logging in, you can find the exact meaning in the Netflix help center.
