iPhone X mute - how to do it

When you mute your iPhone X, you will not hear ringing and warning sounds during this time. To turn off the sound on your device, you have several options in the process. Either use the switch provided for this purpose or choose the way via the menu.

How to mute your iPhone X

When the sound on your iPhone X is turned on, ringtones, alerts, and other sounds can be heard through the smartphone's speaker. If you don't want to hear sounds temporarily, this is possible by setting the iPhone X to silent. The quickest way to mute the device is to slide the switch, which is located on the right side of the casing. To set your iPhone X to "silent", please move it so that the orange background is visible. Alternatively, you can also mute the device via the menu:
  1. To do this, please first open the Settings app of the device by tapping the gear icon in the app overview.
  2. In the settings, then navigate to "Sounds & Haptics" and activate the "Silent" option to not hear ringing and warning sounds.
  3. Please note that the vibration function remains activated even in silent mode and the device vibrates on incoming calls or messages.

Mute: How to change the sound settings

Instead of completely muting the iPhone X, you can also customize the sound settings of the device. To do this, go to "Settings" > "Sounds & Haptics" again and select one of the options that appear, such as Ringtone or "New Email", to set a new sound for it. By tapping on "Vibration", additional changes to the vibration settings are also possible.
