Amazon: Write a review - how it works

Customer reviews are one of the best and most important ways to evaluate a product well when shopping. By writing a review on Amazon, you are contributing your part to the community. This way, other buyers can better assess the condition of the item before you purchase it.

If you want to write a review about a product, it's easy to do so on Amazon.

How to write a review on Amazon

You can write a review about basically any product you've purchased on Amazon. However, before this is possible, you must have purchased the item first. Note that this means you cannot rate free digital content. You can only write a review 48 hours after your order has been shipped.

1. Open the overview to your orders. You can find this under "My Account" at "My Orders".
2. To the right of each ordered product you will see the option "Write a product review". Click the button at the desired product.
3. All ordered products will be displayed. First give a star rating under the product.
4. Below are two text fields. There you can write your review and add a title. Depending on the product type, you can even add photos or videos or have the option to rate certain features with stars.
5. Finally click on "Send".

For good readability, regular paragraphs are advisable, in addition, bullet points (tally sheets) are important for the overview. With an honest, neat and well-worded review, you help other customers in their purchase decision.
