Enlarge an image without losing quality - here's how

What to do when you've taken the perfect photo, but the photo is too small to see the details? By simply enlarging it, you are hurting the quality of your images. However, you can prevent this from happening if you work with a specific app.

How to enlarge your images without quality loss

To enlarge your images, download a special app, for example SmillaEnlarger, and then proceed as follows:

1. Download the SmillaEnlarger program and unzip the .zip archive. Then start SmillaEnlarger via the .exe file.
2. In the next step, open the photo that you want to enlarge. To do this, click on the "Open..." button in the upper right part of the window.
3. In the third step, select the area to be enlarged by clicking and holding the mouse on the upper left corner of the selected section of the image and dragging the marker to the lower right corner of the section. You can also select the whole image in this way. When you release the mouse button, a frame will wrap around the selected image section.
4. Now click the "Enlarge & Save" button at the bottom of the window. The enlarged result will be saved by default in the same folder as the source file.
5. This way you get a good quality enlargement of your image detail.

If you look around, you will come across quite a few apps. That said, you should only invest money if you rely on such a program on a regular basis. Also keep in mind that more and more social media platforms are offering this service for free.
