The 16-bit era began in the late eighties, when the technology was still in its infancy compared to today. This is exactly why vintage effects are sometimes very popular - but sometimes not.

CoD Warzone: Less realism thanks to 16-bit look

The DLC goes by the name of "Tracer Pack: 16 Bit", the effects refer to the fired ammunition:

• These are kept in the 16-bit look when shooting, so they appear much more angular and coarse-grained, which greatly reduces the realism.
• The DLC can be purchased in-game for 2,200. In addition to the tracer effects, other items such as legendary weapons, cards and emblems are included.
• A point of contention in the community at the moment is that even players who have not purchased the DLC will see the effects if other players have activated them.

The otherwise rather realistic graphics thus goes a bit in the direction of comic book look and that is not to everyone's taste.
