How to read out the WLAN password on a MacBook
If you don't remember the password of the WLAN network you are using or if you want to know the password of another network, it is possible to read it out on your MacBook. The prerequisite for this, however, is that you were previously logged into the respective WLAN network and the password was stored.- To read out a stored password, please first open the keychain management on your MacBook.
- This is done most quickly by clicking on the "magnifying glass icon" at the top right and searching for "keychain management" in the Spotlight search.
- In the keychain management, then enter the name of your WLAN in the search field, confirm with "Enter" and open the corresponding entry with a double click.
- Now set a check next to "Show password", enter your login password and confirm with "Allow" so that your password is displayed in plain text.
