Resetting Surface Pro 6 to factory settings

Sometimes it can happen that the Surface Pro 6 does not work properly anymore. In this case, it is advisable to reset the tablet to factory settings. Since the Surface Pro 6 has Windows installed, simply follow the same procedure as you would for your desktop PC.

How to reset Surface Pro 6 to factory settings?

Before resetting, you should create a backup of Windows 10 so that your data is not lost.

1. In the search bar at the bottom left, type "backup" and tap "backup settings". Here you can create a new backup.
2. To do this, simply click on "Add drive" and preferably select a connected USB stick on which you save the backup.
3. Now you can reset the tablet. To do this, type "recovery" in the bottom left of the search bar and this time tap "recovery options".
4. Now tap "Reset this PC" here and follow the on-screen instructions.
5. Sobald der Vorgang abgeschlossen ist, wird Ihr Surface Pro 6 neu gestartet und Sie können es wieder wie gewohnt benutzen.
6. Wollen Sie nun das Backup wiederherstellen, geben Sie in die Suchleiste „Dateiversionsverlauf“ ein.
7. Klicken Sie auf das Programm und wählen Sie die Datei von Ihrem Wechseldatenträger aus. Sie können nun nach der Version suchen, die wiederhergestellt werden soll.
