The taskbar is displayed by default at the bottom of the screen on all Windows computers and is used to display app icons and the time. If you do not need the taskbar, you can also hide it. Also, read how to hide the dock bar on Mac analogously.

How to hide the taskbar on Windows computer

If you do not use the taskbar on your computer or if the display bothers you, it is easily possible to hide the taskbar on computers with Windows as the operating system.
  1. If you are using a Windows 10 PC, first right-click on a free space on the taskbar to open the context menu.
  2. In the menu, then select the "Taskbar Settings" option and move the switch next to the "Automatically hide taskbar in desktop mode" entry in the window that opens.
  3. If you use your Windows 10 computer in tablet mode, it is also necessary to activate the "Automatically hide taskbar in tablet mode" option in the taskbar menu.
  4. If you still have an older computer with Windows XP, 7 or 8, please select the "Settings" entry in the context menu and then place a check mark next to "Hide taskbar automatically".

Hide taskbar: This option exists on the Mac
