Windows 10: Automatically hide taskbar

In Windows 10, you will find the function to automatically hide the taskbar. Depending on the setting you want, this can be used in both desktop mode and tablet mode, allowing you to see more of the image.

How to automatically hide the taskbar in Windows 10?

The taskbar settings in Windows 10 make it possible for you to automatically hide the bar. This makes it disappear from the screen so you can see more of applications like your browser. Alternatively, though, you can use full-screen mode with many programs and players. If you set it to hide the taskbar, it will reappear as soon as you move the mouse pointer near the actual position of the taskbar, so you can still navigate through your open programs and see the time, for example.
  1. First, perform a right-click on the taskbar.
  2. In the context menu, then click on "Taskbar settings".
  3. Click on the slider "Automatically hide taskbar in desktop mode" so that it is activated pushed to the right. Alternatively, you will also find the corresponding function for tablet mode under it.
The taskbar is hidden immediately. Do you want to use it or do you want to call the taskbar settings again to undo the function, simply move your mouse pointer to the position where you normally find the taskbar. If the taskbar does not show up, you can also find the settings by going to Windows Settings and opening the Personalization menu.
