Cleaning AirPods - how to get your headphones clean

One of the really attractive and convenient features of AirPods is that they are so small and therefore easy to hide. This allows you to wear the compact headphones on any occasion. However, to ensure that the classy in-ears are not only visually appealing but also hygienic, you need to clean the headphones regularly.

How to remove dirt effectively

The advantage of AirPods is that the headphones are placed directly in your ear. So, while the sound is better, the gadget also comes into direct contact with dirt. Therefore, you should clean the AirPods regularly:
  1. First, clean the case of the AirPods with a soft cloth. Ideally, you moisten the cloth discreetly for this purpose. Stubborn dirt you can remove with a cotton swab and pure alcohol.
  2. To make the sound optimal, you need to clean out the microphone and speaker grille with a soft brush. The brush should be of high quality and not lose any hair.
  3. You can also remove residues with a discreetly moistened cotton swab.
  4. Also, the charging case must be freed from dirt. For this you should use a slightly moistened microfiber cloth.
  5. The Lightning connector should be cleaned with the brush to protect the delicate metal contacts.

When must a cleaning be done?

Not only with visible dirt, but also with colds or infections, you should perform a cleaning of your AirPods. Because otherwise, the bacteria and germs can become the source of infections through the in-ears again and again. At the same time, you should not be afraid to do regular cleanings, because they also extend the life of your headphones.
