Samsung Galaxy A80: Suppress number

If you do not want your phone number to be transmitted during phone calls, this works with the corresponding settings on your Samsung Galaxy A80. Depending on what version of the operating system you have installed on your smartphone, the procedure differs in detail.

Suppress number on Android Pie

With number suppression, you prevent your number from being sent on outgoing calls. Follow these steps to enable the feature in Android Pie:
  1. Open the Phone app on your Galaxy A80.
  2. Tap the three-dot icon in the top right corner to bring up the menu.
  3. There, select the "Settings" item.
  4. In the overview, tap "Additional services" and then "Show own phone number".
  5. A drop-down menu opens where you activate the function "Hide number".
To transmit your number again for calls, call up the settings menu again and select the option "Show number".

How to suppress the number on older Android versions

If you have an older Android version installed on your Galaxy A80, follow these steps:
  1. Call the phone app and access the menu via the three-dot icon or the "More" button.
  2. Select "Call settings" or "Call" from the menu.
  3. Tap in the overview on the category "More settings" or "Additional settings".
  4. Call there either the option "Caller ID" or "Show own phone number".
  5. Here you now have the option to suppress your phone number via the option "Hide number".
