If you want to use a Fonic tariff abroad with your smartphone, this usually works without any problems, as with other network operators. However, different costs are incurred than in Germany. You can find out all the important information in this article.

Using Fonic abroad - all the information

If you want to use a Fonic tariff to make calls, surf the Internet or send text messages abroad, different charges apply than in Germany. Furthermore, it depends on whether you are in a country of the European Union, Switzerland or abroad. The European Union is summarized as country group 1, Switzerland as country group 2 and the rest of the international countries as country group 3.
  • With a flat rate or with inclusive minutes, you can make calls within country group 1 free of charge. As soon as the inclusive minutes are used up or if you have not booked a flat rate, 0.09 cents will be charged for outgoing calls. The same applies to sending and receiving text messages. Unless included in the tariff, the data volume costs 0.24 cents per MB.
  • Calls to and from Switzerland are not covered by inclusive minutes or a flat rate and there are 0.09 cents per minute. The same applies to SMS. Here are also 0.09 cents for sending, receiving is free. The data volume costs 0.24 cents per MB.
  • Outgoing calls in international countries cost 1.29 euros a minute. Incoming connections 0.99 cents. Sending SMS costs 0.39 cents and the reception is free. For data volumes, 1.20 per 100 KB will be charged.
