eFootball PES 2021: Release Date and Background

The big FIFA competitor is coming out again in 2020 with a new edition. This year, however, there are some special features that fans should know about before buying eFootball PES 2021.

For a long time it was assumed that eFootball PES 2021 would only be released as an update DLC of the predecessor. This has since been denied; it is still not a completely new version.

eFootball PES 2021: Release significantly earlier than FIFA 21

In fact, PES 2021 is only an update of PES 2020.

• eFootball PES 2021 will be released on September 15, more than two weeks earlier than FIFA 21.
• Despite this, the game will not be released as DLC based on PES 2020, but as a standalone version. This is available for 29.99 euros, which is significantly below the usual RRP. Owners of PES 2020 also receive a 20 percent discount.
• In the course of the update, updated databases are included so that the content is up to date.
• The new features are limited: The player display has been slightly improved, there is exclusive content for the European Championship 2020 and with Iconic Moments you can play a new myClub series.

In total, it is therefore the foundation of PES 2020, but with current data and some small innovations - this corresponds to the definition of an update. As a reason, Konami has stated that the focus is on the development of a PES for the next-gen consoles. This title should only appear in about a year, so at the end of 2021, but then deliver all the more new.
