Using Scrivener on multiple devices: Is that possible?

When working on your projects on multiple devices alternately, there are a few things to keep in mind. For Scrivener users, the first question is whether multiple devices are even possible with one license.

Generous: You can use one Scrivener license on up to ten devices.

Remote access to programs has long become standard. With Scrivener, this is also possible, and without its own cloud tool.

Scrivener: Different devices are no problem - only the platform is important

Scrivener allows use with multiple devices in this way:
  • Scrivener does not have its own central cloud storage.
  • However, you can store your projects as files in a cloud like Dropbox and access them from anywhere with Scrivener.
  • Using one license on multiple computers is not a problem: you can use up to ten devices per account (i.e. license). This number should be more than sufficient for single users.
  • The only important thing is that you pay attention to platform - Scrivener is distributed separately for Windows and Mac, after all. With a Windows license, you can consequently not use the program on an Apple computer (and vice versa).
Since you can easily store your projects in free cloud storage, there is thus nothing to stop you from using Scrivener with different devices. Very helpful for this is the "Synchronize" option, which you can find in Scrivener under "File".
