GeForce Experience: Something went wrong

GeForce Experience allows you to conveniently update the drivers for your NVIDIA graphics card and optimize the graphics of games. Every now and then, however, you may get the error message "Something went wrong" when launching GeForce Experience and the software crashes.

What you can do about the error message "Something went wrong"

Since it is difficult to discern what exactly triggers the error when launching GeForce Experience, it is difficult to determine an exact solution.
  1. Open the task manager with the key combination [CTRL] + [ALT] + [Del]. Switch to the detail view and call up the "Processes" tab. There, terminate all processes marked with "NVIDA". Then try to start the program again.
  2. Outdated graphics drivers can also be responsible for the crash when starting GeForce Experience. You can update the graphics drivers manually. To do so, go to the NVIDA website and download and install the appropriate drivers for your graphics card model.
  3. A problem with DirectX can also be the trigger for the error. Therefore, make sure that the software is up to date.

Not only outdated drivers can be the culprit

It is important not only to keep the drivers for the built-in hardware up to date, but also to regularly update Windows. If you have disabled the automatic update function, check manually whether updates are available for the operating system. You can find the option for this in the Control Panel.
