Resetting AirPods - how the process works

With Apple's AirPods, you can enjoy a great sound experience on the go and at the same time the wireless headphones look very stylish. As a result, technical difficulties can not only strain your nerves, but also lead to frustration. Due to this, we will show you how to reset AirPods.

How to restore factory settings

Not only in case of technical difficulties, but also before selling your AirPods, it makes sense to reset the in-ear headphones.
  1. The first step is to place both AirPods in the charging case. When doing so, you should make sure that the AirPods have at least 10 percent battery power.
  2. On the back of the charging case, you will find the setup button in the center. This you must hold for about 15 seconds.
  3. Keep an eye on the status indicator of your AirPod case. Because as soon as this flashes alternately white and yellow, you can release the button.
  4. To check the success of the reset, you should remove the AirPods from the charging case and reconnect them to your iPhone.
  5. Make sure that your AirPods have enough battery. Because only then you can properly test that the process was successful.

Is frequent resetting problematic?

Even if you use the AirPods for many activities, it may happen that you have to resort to resetting more often. However, this should not worry you and you can repeat this step several times. However, always make sure that you clean your AirPods regularly and thoroughly.
