iPhone X: Connect AirPods - how to do it

The AirPods were developed by Apple specifically for use with the iPhone or another Apple device. However, if you have an iPhone X, listening to music wirelessly, making phone calls or using Siri is only possible if you have connected the devices first.

How to connect AirPods and iPhone X

Even if you're an iPhone X user, you can still use the Apple-designed AirPods to listen to music or make phone calls. Depending on whether you have the 1st or 2nd generation AirPods, you will need at least iOS 10 or iOS 12.2 on your iPhone X. If these requirements are met, the first step is to connect the AirPods to the iPhone X.

1. On the iPhone X, first go to the Home screen and open the case in which the AirPods are located.
2. Hold the AirPods to the iPhone X and wait until the setup animation appears on its screen.
3. Now tap "Connect" first and then "Done" to complete the pairing of the two devices.

How to use the AirPods on the iPhone X

Once you have connected the AirPods to the iPhone X, it is sufficient to use them to take them out of the protective case and put them in your ear. The Apple headphones will then turn on and play the music that is currently being played on the iPhone X. As soon as you take one of the headphones out of the ear, the playback stops automatically or is completely stopped. The activation and use of Siri is also possible by means of the AirPods.
