Nevertheless, in the case of a private purchase, it is even more important to know whether the product shown also corresponds to the description. For this reason, Apple has attached a special model number to the headphones, which allows them to be recognized.

Recognizing AirPods 2: How to be sure

The model number tells you exactly what kind of headphones they are. This can be read both on your smartphone and directly on the headphones.

1. If you have already connected the AirPods to your smartphone, you can check their model number directly in the settings.
2. To do this, go to the settings under the item "General" and navigate further to "Info".
3. There you now scroll down until you see the name of your AirPods.
4. Now tap on the name so that the model number is displayed to you.
5. Should you not find the model number in the settings or only have pictures of the headphones available, the model number can be found in the first line of text below the ear cup.
