Switching on WLAN Mac - this is how it is done

Since your Mac has a built-in WLAN function, you have the possibility to connect it wirelessly to the Internet. However, before that, you need to turn on the WLAN on your Mac and connect to a network.

How to turn on the WLAN feature on Mac

Before you can use your Mac's WLAN to browse the Internet wirelessly, it is necessary to enable the feature on your computer. The quickest way to do this is via the menu bar, by first clicking on the "WLAN icon" in it and then selecting the "Activate WLAN" option.
  1. If you do not see the WLAN icon in the menu bar of your Mac, the function can also be switched on via the System Preferences.
  2. You can get there by first opening the Apple menu and clicking on "System Preferences".
  3. In the settings, then go to "Network" > "WLAN" and select the option "Show WLAN status in menu bar"

Turn on WLAN: How to connect your Mac to a WLAN network

Once you have enabled WLAN as described before, the next step is to connect to a network. To do this, click the WLAN icon in the Mac's menu bar again and select a network from the list of available WLAN networks. If you are connecting to the Wi-Fi network for the first time and it is encrypted, please enter the corresponding password before clicking "Connect". If you have already connected to a WLAN network before and saved its credentials, your Mac will automatically connect when the WLAN is turned on on the device.
