Restart Fritzbox - this is how it is done

If your Fritzbox suddenly does not work as usual and you notice a bad WLAN or problems making phone calls, a restart of the Fritzbox can help. You can do this directly on the router or via software designed for this purpose.

Fritzbox: restart router

How to restart your Fritzbox at the router:

1. Unplug the power plug from your Fritzbox and the power outlet.
2. Wait a few minutes and then plug the power adapter back in.
3. After that, the Fritzbox restarts itself. This can take up to five minutes.
4. Finally, the Fritzbox connects to your devices automatically and previous problems should be solved.

Restart using software

If the Fritzbox is mounted in such a way that you can not easily reach it, it is recommended to reboot using software.

1. Öffnen Sie hierfür zunächst die Webseite der Fritzbox mit Ihrem PC oder Tablet.
2. Melden Sie sich nun mit Ihren Zugangsdaten an.
3. Klicken Sie anschließend im Menü auf „System“ und danach auf „Sicherung“.
4. Ihnen wird nun der Punkt „Neustart“ angezeigt. Wählen Sie diesen aus.
5. Im Anschluss startet sich Ihre Fritzbox neu. Dies kann einige Minuten in Anspruch nehmen. Nach dem Neustart sollten sich alle Ihre Geräte wieder automatisch mit der Fritzbox verbinden und vermeintliche Probleme behoben worden sein.
