Openbank belongs to Santander and was created specifically for this emerging market segment.

Openbank: free account with R42 card

• The Openbank account is basically free of charge. The card is a debit Mastercard, with which you can withdraw money worldwide up to five times a month. At the Santander Group ATMs you can withdraw unlimited.
• The card is available in different designs.
• Optionally, you can activate additional benefits at any time. This turns the free variant into a subscription for 7.99 euros per month. For this price, you get features such as travel insurance.
• The paid subscription is also called "On/Off" subscription, because you can deactivate it just as easily again, if desired. The costs are thus only temporary for the period in which you want to use the benefits.

R42 is compatible with mobile payment solutions such as Google Pay or Apple Pay. Complementing the free card with optional costs, there is also the Metal Card Я42, which for 13.99 euros per month not only looks more upscale, but also comes with additional options, first and foremost the concierge service, which takes over tasks such as hotel bookings for you on request.
