Honor 5x: Update to Android 6

You can update your Honor 5x to Android 6. However, before you perform such a major update of the operating system, you should follow some safety tips.

Preparing for the update to Android 6 with the Honor 5x

Huawei's Honor 5x is compatible with the Android 6 version. All you need to do for the update is to start the update safely. Before you do that, however, you should make a backup of your data. This way, you can ensure that all your data, such as photos and phone numbers, will be preserved even in case of problems. The easiest way to do this is to connect the smartphone to a PC or laptop and transfer your data. Alternatively, simply store the data in the Huawei Mobile Cloud.

Perform update

Once all your data is safely stored, you can update the Honor 5x to Android 6. Instead of having to download and install the update manually, you can use an app from Huawei to do so. Make sure that your WLAN connection is stable beforehand so that the Android update can be downloaded without any problems.
