Rockstar Games: An overview of all the studio's games

Rockstar Games is one of the really big names in the gaming market, and has been for many years. To mark the current occasion, we take a look at the studio's game series and provide an overview.

Names for eternity: GTA is the trademark of Rockstar Games.

The Rockstar Games company has undergone several transformations, which also affected the name. However, the distinguishing term Rockstar has always remained and that makes the assignment easier.

Rockstar Games: game series with legend status

Since Rockstar has created several iconic game franchises, it makes sense to list the series separately:

• The first is the GTA series: Grand Theft Auto (1998), Grand Theft Auto 2 (1999), Grand Theft Auto III (2001), Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002), Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (2004), Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (2005), Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories (2006), Grand Theft Auto IV (2008), Grand Theft Auto V (2013)
• Rockstar has also had a proper hand in the racing game genre, with the Midnight Club series: Midnight Club: Street Racing (2000), Midnight Club II (2003), Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition (2005), Midnight Club: Los Angeles (2008)
• Equally legendary is the series around the action hero Max Payne: Max Payne (2001), Mayne 2 (2003), Max Payne 3 (2012)
• The GTA principle in the Wild West - Red Dead Redemption stood for this from the beginning: Red Dead Revolver (2004), Red Dead Redemption (2010), Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018)

Since Red Dead Redemption 2 was also released for PC in November 2019, the Western action is currently on everyone's lips. However, the most successful Rockstar game of all time remains GTA V with nearly 100 million copies sold.Also worth mentioning are Body Harvest (1998), Oni (2001), Manhunt 1 & 2 (2003 & 2007) and L.A. Norie (2011), although these are far from reaching the status of the aforementioned series.
