Configuration of Touch ID failed
If your Apple device can no longer be unlocked with Touch ID and it can also no longer be configured, several causes may be possible. In addition to a current iOs version, the home button should be clean and not covered by a protective film.

Whether using an iPhone or iPad, Touch ID is one of the most important security features on mobile devices.- Make sure your device's iOS version is up to date.
- Make sure the Home button is free of dirt or grease. Your fingers must also be clean and dry.
- The finger must completely cover the Home button and be held steady.
- Protective covers must not cover the Home button.
- If configuration fails with one finger, you may want to repeat the process with another finger.
