Accessing Nextcloud via WebDAV - here's how to do it

Thanks to WebDAV, you can easily access a service on your network without being on-site. Nextcloud is especially worth setting up, as it allows you to always have access to your most important files without having to carry them around on a hard drive.

Accessing Nextcloud via WebDAV: The preparation

In order to connect, you must first connect your Windows computer to Nextcloud.

1. Start your computer and switch to Explorer via the key combination [Win] + [E].
2. There, click on "This PC" and then on "Add network address".
3. Now use the button "Next" until you are asked to enter a new network address.
4. In the text field, enter [https://ihredomain.de/nextcloud/remote.php/dav/files/Benutzername/] and replace the domain with your personal domain at Nextcloud. Tauschen Sie ebenfalls den Benutzernamen durch den eigenen User-Namen ein.
5. Durch erneutes Klicken auf „Weiter“ werden Sie gebeten, sich mit Ihren Daten bei Nextcloud einzuloggen.
6. Klicken Sie abschließend auf „Fertigstellen“.

WebDAV Verbindung auf dem Mac einrichten

1. Öffnen Sie den Finder und klicken Sie auf „Gehe zu“ und „Mit Server verbinden“.
2. Nutzen Sie nun die Vorlage aus Punkt 4 und tauschen Sie erneut den Text an den relevanten Stellen durch Ihre Daten aus.
3. Abschließend klicken Sie auf „Weiter“ und melden sich erneut im Konto an.
4. Durch „Fertigstellen“ schließen Sie den Vorgang ab.
