Calculating spatial modes - how it works

Room modes are certain frequencies that are perceived as particularly loud at regular intervals and therefore stand out especially. Space modes are caused by the superposition or even mutual cancellation of frequencies that meet from different directions. The superposition of the waves can result in a summation, causing a frequency to boom.

Calculating room modes: how to know which frequencies are droning

Calculating room modes is not easy. The more complex the geometry of the room in which you want to calculate room modes, the more extensive the formula used.
  1. To fix the calculation of room modes to an example, first assume that the current room is square.
  2. In this case, the formula: f_rau = c/2 sqrt[ (x/l)² + (y/b)² + (z/h)² ].
  3. The expression "sqrt" means the root of the expression behind it.
  4. x, y and z are so-called ordinal numbers, which can take a value from 0 to 6 as integers.
