How do I clean the HP print head? How it works

Like most printers, HP's printers also offer the option to automatically clean the print head. This option can be found in the printer's menu. If the device still prints unclean after that, you can also do a manual cleaning of the print head. In doing so, you should keep a few things in mind.

Clean the print head on HP printer

If your HP printer prints uncleanly, first try cleaning the print head automatically. If that doesn't help, manual cleaning is recommended. Do not use any cleaning agents for this, but only distilled water.

Automatic cleaning

1. Open the menu of your printer.
2. Navigate to the "Extras" option.
3. Select "Clean printer".
4. The cleaning will now be performed automatically. Do not interrupt the process.
5. The printer will tell you when cleaning is complete.
6. Open the menu and select "Tools"
7. Select Test Page.
8. Check the result of the print.

Manual Cleaning

1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the machine from the power outlet.
2. Remove the printer cartridges and place them on a straight surface with the opening facing up.
