Print PDF without margins: How it works

PDFs can be printed without margins with all common PDF programs. You can find the corresponding settings in the options of your printer. When printing borderless, the printer does not add a default margin. However, margins defined in the document will still be printed and must be removed in the layout settings.

Printing a PDF without margin

If you want to print your PDF without margin, this is possible with all common PDF programs. You do not make the settings in the document, but in the settings of your printer. The printer will then add the margin defined in the printer's preferences in a non-default way. However, if the document has been set up with margins, they will always be printed with it, even if you choose borderless printing. To remove this margin as well, you can go to "Layout" and remove the margin. To do this, you need a program that can edit PDFs, for example, the professional program Adobe Acrobat Pro or the free PDF 24 Creator.

Print a PDF borderless

1. Open the document in Adobe Reader.
2. Select "File" in the top left menu.
3. Klicken Sie auf „Drucken“
4. Wählen Sie Ihren Drucker aus und klicken Sie auf „Eigenschaften“.
5. Setzen Sie einen Haken bei „Randloser Druck“.
6. Wählen Sie „OK“.
7. Klicken Sie auf „Drucken“.
8. Das PDF-Dokument wird nun gedruckt.
